William H. Frey, O.D.
Dr. William Frey was born and raised in Hobart, In. He is the son of Richard and Betty Frey, who owned and operated the Hobart Dairy Queen for 50 years. Two of his three brothers currently own the Hobart Dairy Queen.
Dr Frey served 6 years in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman. He then pursued his Doctorate Degree of Optometry from Indiana University, graduating in 1987. After graduating, Dr. Frey purchased his practice in 1988 from Dr. Richard Mayer, (the original optometrist who provided optical care from 1948-1988). Dr Frey also assumed the care of Dr Mazurek's patients when he retired.
In 1988 Dr. Frey and Merrilee, whom is also a Hobart graduate, were married. They have five children, Amie, Scott, Clayton, Elizabeth and Seth. Merrilee is a Registered Nurse, and Director of Lake County-Lake Circuit Court Domestic Relations Counseling Bureau.
Dr. Frey and Merrilee enjoy living in their hometown area with their family. Dr. Frey enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, playing guitar, reading and watching movies. Dr. Frey and his brother, Scott recently purchased the Art Theatre in downtown Hobart and are now showing first run movies.
